Christ follower?

What does it really mean to be a “Christ follower”?  That is what I have been struggling with the past several months.  Churches seem to measure everything - attendance, baptisms, offerings - but how do you measure spiritual growth?  You can’t measure something without a process, and we don’t have a process.  Stay tuned, this is something we will be addressing.  “Discipleship”, “spiritual growth”, whatever you want to call it; is an area that needs attention.  We have done and continue to do a good job of reaching the unchurched, not so good at walking with the new believer along the path of Christ-likeness.

Easter was a blast!  CrossPointe is so blessed to have such a dynamic volunteer force.  I am excited to see the relationships that develop with the families that were first time guests on Easter.

Thanks for the opportunity to serve with you at CrossPointe.  I can’t think of a place more cool to serve Christ.

David

Thanks for the privilege

Thanks for the privilege of serving you and serving with God with you at CrossPointe these past 4 years. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for us over the next several years.

Thank you also for the confidence you showed in me by the affirmation and support Sunday. I will do my best to honor that confidnece and also honor the awesome privilege God has given me to be pastor of such a unique and special church.

The challenges are not over - in fact, they will grow as we grow. Bt I have full confidence that God will see us through them as He has consistently in the past. Not only has He seen us through them, He has supernaturally blessed us in the process.

Continue to pray for your friends and aquaintences that you have been inviting for Easter. We are praying for God’s Holy Spirit to be working in their hearts and to see a tremendous harvest.

Thank you again for your support, encourgement, and confidence. Now let’s go share the message of Christ with our neighbors.

Thanks for the privilege,

Pastor David

Maiden Voyage

Many of you commented on the series of emails I sent out over the last 2 weeks dealing with the decisions we face at CrossPointe. We now have the opportunity to do this on an ongoing and more technically friendly manner. My purpose with this is twofold: to communicate with our members more frequently and to let others have a peek into the world of CrossPointe.

This is a new experience for me. I have never considered myself a writer; somewhat odd, I know, since I “write” a presentation every week. However, I have always considered my strength to be more in the personal/face-to-face medium. Again, many of you expressed how much you enjoyed the daily encouragements; so I look forward to sharing my thoughts with you on a regular - if not daily - basis.

Thanks again for your support and encouragement. The role of pastor is a lonely one while at the same time being surrounded by supporting and loving people.  A strange paradox.   So, thank you for your concern and love during this challenging time for our family. I know God has a tremendous plan for CrossPointe and our family.   What that looks like, I don’t know.  What I do know is that it will be a wild and exciting ride. Are you up to sharing that ride with me?

Talk with you again soon.
